Marc is the editor of Science & Spirit, managing the day-to-day operations of the magazine. He joined S&S as associate editor in February of 2003, but spent the better part
of the ’90s writing and editing for a handful of Boston-area daily and weekly newspapers, before transitioning to the online world, where he worked for Microsoft’s Sidewalk city
guides; CMGi’s custom portal myway.com; and WGBH.org. Marc, who has a philosophy degree from Vassar College and a master’s degree from Northeastern University’s School of
Journalism, is thrilled to be back in print.

News and, before that, senior editor at San Jose Magazine. Her writing has appeared in the Palo Alto Weekly, UU World magazine, and MIT’s Technology
Review online. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Stanford University.

Ami is the books editor at Science & Spirit. Prior to joining the magazine, she worked as a reporter at The Standard Times in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She received
a master’s degree in journalism and Latin American studies from New York University in 2002.
Dan Messier

Dan is the assistant editor at Science & Spirit. He compiles graphs and sidebars, updates parts of the Web site, and is Science & Spirit’s head fact-checker. Dan recently graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a degree in English.
